How A Blog Gets You Found on Search engine Results Pages

Writing a business blog gets you noticed online

Write With Your Audience in Mind, Use Keywords, Be Helpful and You Will Attract New Leads

Marketing a business and getting results can be difficult. It's natural for people to not feel right about singing their praises, but marketing is not about being humble. If nobody knows how great your firm is, then you're handing the competition business opportunities that should yours.  The easiest way to overcome this is by providing advice while promoting your business. Writing blogs allows you to help prospects while telling the story of your firm. It's the best way to provide in-depth information on products and/or customer service and it is the foundation of online content marketing.

When you first started on your mission to get your name out there, you probably considered the fact that you'll need a great name, and, of course, you'll need a website.  But what next? The fact of the matter is that once you've established a good foundation, the great structure is something that constantly needs built and altered to meet the needs of your consumers' changing environments.

This is where business blogging comes into play.  Once you're ready to teach your audience all about how great you are, you're going to need a little help from search engines. Of course, they'll take your products, services, and location into mind when people are putting words into their search bars, but to stand out above your competition you need to have business blogging in place as a regular business practice.  Here's why:

Meta Tags Help Make the World Go 'Round

Notice we said 'help' make the world go 'round.  In truth, meta tags are somewhat important.  They help search engines understand who you are, what your content is about, and what kind of people might want to land on your page.  Meta tags are the words that you see at the top of a tab any time you open up a new web page. Using keywords, search engines (and your audience) will quickly get a feel for what they'll be viewing on your site with these tags.  But they're not the end-all-be-all.  There was a time when meta tags were pretty much all you needed to get your site noticed.  But just as search engines, and your own business have evolved, so, too, have the necessary implementations for a successful website matured.

Keyword Dense Blogs Help You Get Noticed

When search engines such as Google are using web crawlers to roam around the web and decide which websites get to make it to the first couple of pages, they're specifically looking for a high density of the keywords that users are typing in to find businesses like yours.  Being keyword rich means that those analytic robots will take notice of your company, and you'll have a better chance of getting to the top of the searches.  Your static website only gives you the availability to stuff so many keywords into a relatively confined space.  Blogging allows you to add keyword-rich text that will be valuable to both your readers and gets you a higher the search engine page rank.  Keyword stuffing is the process of cramming as many keywords into an article as possible. Your website will be penalized for this by search engines and having too many will make your content come off stiff and awkward to read - a big turn off for your primary target, human beings.

Speaking of Keywords...

Not long ago, having industry-specific words was simply all you needed to get noticed by the search engines.  As search technologies have evolved, the requirements for pages getting ranked highly are also getting more advanced.  These days, when the algorithms are scouring the web looking for sites to rank, they're looking for a good keyword density that is found within valuable relevant content.  Business blogging allows you to aggregate articles on keywords, so your presence is optimized in search engines.
